Question by : What are the best languages for a new web developer to learn?
I have been a programmer/analyst using SQL, PL/SQL and VB. I am looking into starting a career path in web development and was curious what languages I should focus on. Thanks for the help.

HTML or Flash is the best for web developers.

Considering that all websites are written in HTML or Flash, but mainly both.

Visual Web Developer is the best thing to learn on.

play around with flash though. It will make any website look very awesome.

If you are suggested to Java don’t take it. Java is useless and unless you have lots of experience java just looks bad and unprofessional.

Japanese, Spanish or French. Mostly because the people you will have to work with in your job will speak these languages. if i were you, i would focus on Japanese first, then work on Spanish, then if you would like french.

Then I’d say go for PHP or ASP.
